Why This Knitting Bee
This Knitting Bee, started in 2020, is a small endeavor to introduce an old craft form of hand knitting in a contemporary way. Knitting is a labour-intensive craft, and just like the bee, it needs a lot of dedication and hard work to make something as sweet as honey. Handknits are full of love, and should fit like a second skin wrapping the wearer in a warm hug.
About Krupa Bhardwaj
This Knitting Bee is a one-woman endeavor by me, aka, Krupa Bhardwaj. I am an architect and an urban planner, but my needles and yarn have been a constant companion for 25+ years. Most of what I have learnt is self-taught, with a lot of help from knitting gurus. I took a sabbatical to move between countries and raise two kids and was longing to get back to work. Covid-19 and the ensuing quarantine gave me a huge break in life, forcing me to reconsider life options and most importantly the power to stop procrastinating. Lifestyle changes were made, and here I am, doing something that I have loved doing sporadically for 25 years... professionally.
